Evening Competitive Programs

Olympium Synchro’s evening competitive streams range from the first, entry levels into competition, Novice and Pre-Provincial, to the more comprehensive Provincial Competitive teams. All of these levels feature a team environment where athletes work together to learn and build on skills, develop routines and perform the required figures for their levels, all while having fun and being challenged. The team experience promotes the development and value of leadership skills, solid work ethic, passion and heart. Athletes will learn goal-setting skills as well as self-evaluation and self-awareness. During the first month of training, all competitive athletes are assessed to establish a baseline of performance from which to develop throughout the season and the teams are finalized. See more information on each level below.

Novice Competitive Programs

Novice is a 35-week program running from the end of September through May, which allows swimmers to explore the competitive side of synchro while improving their swimming abilities, comfort in the water and synchro fundamentals. Swimmers learn a group routine for presentation in the two Club Watershows (December and May.) They also compete in the “Novice Competitive Stream” with other novices in two Figure Meets (November and April) and up to three Routine Meets (February, April, May) based on their coach’s recommendation. There are three levels of Novice competitive programming based on age groups: the 8 and Under Team, 10 and Under Red and Black Teams and the 11-12 Team. Ages are determined by birth year and what age the swimmer will turn in the following calendar year. For more information follow this link Novice Program Details

Pre-Provincial Competitive Programs

Our Pre-provincial program is offered to a few swimmers that show a lot of potential for growth in the sport. This group is an expansion of the novice program as it is an enhanced training program with additional training hours and one additional meet. This team focuses on building the solid foundation of an athlete by improving basic skills and building endurance in the pool. It’s goal is to foster an environment of team building while nurturing a love of sport and introducing the swimmers to competition. It is perfect for young swimmers who love swimming and have a strong desire to move into our provincial or national competitive programs. Swimmers learn a group routine for presentation in the two Club Watershows. They also compete in the Novice Competitive Stream in five meets throughout the year. The family participates in the club more as there are fundraising and volunteer commitments. This team does purchase the club uniform and has their bathing suits made for them.
